
IN A SEASON OF DRAMATIC DESIGN, BUSY PRINTS AND MULTIPLE-FABRIC LOOKS, SALVATION FROM CHAOS WAS FOUND IN BRUNO PIETERS. THERE WAS A SENSE OF PURITY IN THE COLLECTION, WHICH USED A STRICT 3-COLOR PALLETE - NUDE EVOLVED INTO WHITE BEFORE TURNING BLACK. A FEW BODY-CONSCIOUS YET ELEGANT DRESSES FEATURED HOODS, POSSIBLY A REFERENCE TO MONKS OR NUNS. OTHERS HAD PANELS THAT EXPANDED TOWARDS THE NECK, AS IF TO PROTECT THE WOMEN WHO WORE THEM. TRENDS OF THE SEASON WERE CLEARLY PRESENT - SHEER, STRUCTURED SHOULDERS, ORNATE BEADED DRESSES - BUT VOID OF ANY EXCESS ACCESSORIES OR FABRIC. PIETERS' COLLECTION WAS INCREDIBLY REFINED, AND HIS CLOTHING SHOWED HIS TRADEMARK TALENT OF DRAPING AND STRUCTURE. VERY WELL MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE COLLECTION OF THE SEASON.
